On Friday, December 4, 2020 Steve Greene has a new release – Noir, City Streets and Macabre. Dark, eerie synths swirl and bounce from ear to ear as you are systematically being stalked by an unknown and unyielding sinister force. Darkness has fallen as time runs out for your world.

Steve Greene (Detroit-based multi-instrumentalist/producer/film composer and keyboardist in the band Voyag3r) has a new 2-song release to close out the year. Noir, City Streets and Macabre is minimal, dark, twisted and sonically frames a dystopian setting where likely no one survives.

These tracks were recorded back in 2017 for 2 different compilation albums, celebrating the Halloween season. Steve Greene has freshly remastered these tracks for this release, through BandCamp.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Steve Greene at his studio, The Battle Chamber, and cover art by Los Angeles based artist John Bergin, Noir, City Streets and Macabre is sure to haunt and terrify you.

New Steve Greene single, Subliminal Dark Waves

On Friday, January 3, 2020, Steve Greene released a new single entitled Subliminal Dark Waves. The song was recorded, mixed and mastered at the Battle Chamber using a Sequential Prophet 6, Moog Minotaur and Alesis Micron. Originally appearing on the Fright Night Club vol. 12 Halloween Compilation, Subliminal Dark Waves now has a worldwide release on all digital download and streaming service platforms.

You can now pre-order the limited edition silver, metallic glitter cassette of the new Steve Greene solo album Distant Transmissions – Kona, Hawaii. Limited to 100 copies and will ship on or before the official release date of Friday, March 15, 2019. Order in the Battle Chamber Store.

What makes the Distant Transmissions album, which will be an on going series for Steve Greene, different is that it is not a traditional studio album. Distant Transmissions executes a specific discipline not only in the writing process, but also in the recording process.

Greene travels to a remote location and sets up a minimal synth and recording rig. In the case of the Kona, Hawaii sessions, 2 small synthesizers (Arturia MicroBrure and Dave Smith Instruments Tetra) one delay pedal (Earthquaker Devices Afterneath), a handheld digital recorder for open air recording and a D.A.W. No pre-planning or writing is done ahead of time, Greene specifically uses the unique and exotic environment to inspire the compositions.

Never knowing how much material will be created, the releases will vary in length and song count. Distant Transmissions – Kona, Hawaii has 6 tracks, coming in at 30 minutes of music, meets soundscape, meets movie score vibes.

Friday, January 19 marks the release of the digital version of Steve Greene’s (Voyag3r) debut solo album Electronic Dreams For A Holographic Existence. The physical versions (vinyl LP, CD and Cassette) will be available on January 26.

“To celebrate the release of Electronic Dreams For A Holographic Existence, I did a sort of ‘found footage’ / Koyaanisqatsi homage to the track The Great Barrier”, Greene says.
